Tips for a Successful Interview

The impression you make on the interviewer often can outweigh your actual credentials. Your poise, attitude, basic social skills and ability to communicate are evaluated along with your experience and education.

Research the Company

This is first on the list for a reason, it is the single most important step of the interview preparation process. Before you walk into an interview, it's important to have a good understanding of  the company and the role you are applying for. Spend some time researching the Company's mission, values, culture as well as any recent news or developments that might be relevant to your interview. This information can help you tailor your answers and demonstrate your interest in the company.

Review the Job Description

Before your interview, make sure you know job description, understand the responsibilities and qualifications required for the position almost by heart. This will help you prepare thoughtful answers that align with the Company's expectations and demonstrate your fit for the role. It's also a good idea to think about any relevant experience or skills you can highlight during the interview.

Practice your Answers

One of the best ways to prepare for an interview is to practice your answers to common interview questions. This can help you feel more comfortable and confident during the actual interview.
1) Tell me about yourself.
2) Walk me through resume.
3) Why do you want this Job ?
4) Why should we hire you ?
5) Give me some example of when you have done (exactly the skill they are looking for) in the past.
6) How would you go about doing (thing you need to do) ?
7) Do you have any questions for me ?

Dress for the Role

Make sure you dress appropriately for the interview, taking into account the company's culture and dress code. It's always better to err on the side of dressing too professionally, rather than too casually. Make sure your clothes are clean and wrinkle-free, and that your hair and makeup (if applicable) are neat and tidy.

Some Small things

1) Print of all physical copies of resume and related certificate.
2) Arrive Early
3) Pack your bag with all necessary stationary in advance
4) Plan how you're getting at interview location
5) Get a good night's sleep
6) Practice- but don't memorise your answers
7) Prepare a reference list
8) Clam your nerves and/or get psyched

During and After Interview

1) Try to stay clam and collected
2) If you feel confused, take a break, inhale deeply, and you'll gather your thoughts
3) Take notes and have question or two ready to ask at the end of the interview.
4) Maintain eye contact and avoid distractions.
5) After interview, always thank the interviewer(s) verbally at the end of the interview. Also, follow up with written thank you note via mail afterward. All this shows how interested you are in the job position they're offering.
